COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION

A comprehensive psychological evaluation assesses an individual's cognitive, academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and adaptive functioning to identify strengths and areas of need. Depending on the reason for referral, it may be used to diagnose Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and other developmental or psychological conditions. The evaluation includes clinical interviews, standardized assessments, behavioral observations, and, when appropriate, parent and teacher questionnaires. Following the evaluation, families receive a detailed written report with findings, diagnoses (if applicable), and personalized recommendations.

COGNITIVE EVALUATION

A cognitive evaluation assesses an individual's intellectual abilities, including reasoning, problem-solving, memory, processing speed, and overall cognitive functioning. These evaluations are commonly used for gifted program eligibility (IQ testing), educational planning, and to better understand a person's cognitive strengths and challenges. Following the evaluation, families receive a comprehensive written report with test results, an explanation of the findings, and individualized recommendations.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT EVALUATION

An academic achievement evaluation measures a child's current academic skills in areas such as reading, writing, mathematics, and written language. The evaluation helps identify academic strengths and areas of need, determine whether a child is performing at grade level, and provide valuable information for educational planning and intervention. Following the evaluation, families receive a comprehensive written report with the results, an explanation of the findings, and individualized recommendations.

SCHOOL-BASED OBSERVATION

A school-based observation is a developmentally focused clinical observation conducted by one of our specialists in the child's educational setting. The observation assesses the child's social interactions, communication, behavior, attention, sensory regulation, and participation within the classroom and school environment. Following the observation, families receive a written summary of findings along with recommendations to support the child's success at school and guide collaboration with educators and other professionals.

EDUCATIONAL CONSULTATION

Our educational consultation services provide guidance and advocacy to help families navigate the special education process with confidence. We work closely with parents to explain evaluations, eligibility, IEPs, and school-based services, and can attend IEP and other school meetings to advocate for the child's individual needs. Our goal is to help families understand their options, collaborate effectively with the school team, and ensure their child receives appropriate educational supports and accommodations.
